Each Saturday morning while the neighborhood was still sleeping paperboy and his dog leave their comfortable and warm beds to deliver newspapers to the neighborhood. Paperboy and his dog quietly walk down the stairs being sure not to disturb his parents and sister, who are all still sleeping. Turtle is a young girl growing up through the Great Depression, and she's a typical eleven-year-old girl although she hates Shirley Temple. She believes life isn't what it's like in the movies and knows that it's complicated, messy and sometimes there aren't happy endings. Her mom is a hard-working housekeeper ad her latest boss doesn't allow children so Turtle gets sent to live with her Aunt Minnie, her mother's sister, in Florida. Growing up she was always mocked for never having her own house, but when she got to Florida, she realizes that the place is basically a dump. My One Word...

       My word this year is CONNECT. I think is a big one for me, especially with this pandemic, I have to connect with others differently than I'm used to. I took the One Word quiz, and this was my word, which actually was spot on for me, with everything I have going on right now. I love to connect with people in so many ways and this pandemic has really changed them both good and bad. However, this pandemic has given me an opportunity to re-connect with myself and re-build personal connections with myself and take time to get back with myself. For the last I don't know how many years, I have just been on-the-go nonstop, so I feel that this was God's way, of giving me a break and telling me to take time for myself and refocus. It's allowed me to get deeper in my physical and mental health, and doing yoga, has greatly improved my overall health.
